If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to see the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.
Travel Vaccinations are given by appointment for a single destination, and the Nurse Walk-In Clinic for more than one destination.
It is important to come into the surgery as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a follow-up appointment may be required.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore they are a chargeable service.
NB: Somerford Grove Practice is a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre (The cost of the Yellow Fever vaccination is £60.00)
OTHER LOCAL NHS TRAVEL VACCINE CLINIC:
Some vaccines are free to NHS patients, e.g. Revaxis (DT Polio), Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Twinrix (Hep A+B) - charges apply for other vaccines (please check with provider)
